Who I am

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in New York State, and I am prepared to collaborate with you as we set and work towards your therapeutic goals.

I use a foundation of relational psychotherapy in my work and will support you in exploring your connections to the people in your life that affect your well-being.

My practice is trauma-informed, non-judgmental, and culturally responsive. I specialize in working with folks exploring their substance misuse, and with their loved ones. I have also worked extensively with people who have experienced trauma, and those who are neurodivergent.

Let’s work together to discover the blocks that are holding you back. Together we can find the way forward into a more positive and fulfilling future.

What I do

My approach is to help clients identify and tap into the strengths they already possess as well as the unhealthy patterns that are no longer serving them.

In my work with couples and families, I strive to help all parties listen for understanding and develop communication habits that will make them feel respected and heard.

Children

As an experienced school social worker, I have observed the ways in which the pandemic, social media, and other modern stressors affect children. Perhaps your child is displaying anti-social behaviors or expressing feelings of anxiety or depression.

Individual therapy can give them a space to explore all of their feelings and practice tools that can help them feel better at home and/or school.

Services

Adults

Individual therapy is a form of self-care and an investment in your mental health. It is a time and space for you to explore what has influenced your current behaviors and perceptions.

I have substance and alcohol misuse training and take a harm-reduction approach in this work. I have also worked extensively with folks who have experienced traumas such as sexual assault and intimate partner violence.

Whether you have an acute issue you’d like to work on short-term, or you are looking for a more long-term therapeutic relationship, therapy can have a major impact on your well-being.

Therapy can be the place where healing happens.

Adolescents

Adolescence is a crucial stage of development in which young people begin to separate from their parents and form their own, unique identities. It is important for teenagers to have adults that they can trust and talk to about all of the changes and new experiences they are having.

Therapy is a space where young people can safely express all parts of themselves without judgment. They may also learn new coping skills that can help them navigate this tumultuous time.

Couples & Families

Most conflicts between romantic partners and family members stem from misaligned communication styles. Therapy can help alleviate issues this creates by providing an impartial third party who can support each person in expressing themselves fully and in listening for understanding.

I have worked with parents and their children, siblings, spouses, and co-parents. Whatever the nature of the relationship, therapy can support each person in working towards a healthier and more fulfilling connection.

Therapy can be short or long-term, to address a specific significant event or to provide maintenance for continued relationship satisfaction.
